P1/2 had the most magical World Book Day! We loved dressing up as our favourite book characters—or getting cosy in our pyjamas with our teddies and blankets. Everyone brought a special book to share with a friend, and we had great fun building reading dens using blankets, pillows and cuddly toys. Reading our books by torchlight made it feel like a real bedtime adventure!
We enjoyed a special midnight feast themed snack and a yummy World Book Day–themed lunch. A highlight of the morning was having our favourite stories read to us by the P7s—they were brilliant storytellers! We really enjoyed doing the colouring and activity sheets based on the stories and designed by P7 - thank you so much P7
All week we’ve been busy making bookmarks and enjoying lots of special stories. After lunch, we had an exciting trip to Lisnaskea Library where Don and Edel read us wonderful stories, sang songs with us, and taught us all about how the library works and how we can borrow books. It was such an amazing experience!
We’re still working hard to complete the Big Bedtime Reading Challenge—and World Book Day has made us love reading more than ever!
