Class Council
In P3 -P7 classes pupils have set up Class Councils. A Class Council meeting allows ALL pupils in the class take part in discussions and decision-making about their class and school. It gives everyone in the class a chance to talk about issues, concerns and improvements. Children are encouraged to find their own solutions to daily difficulties and problems, often by consensus.
Class Councils meet regularly. Pupils lead the Class Council meetings themselves, electing a new chairperson, secretary and time keeper at the beginning of each meeting. The Chairperson leads the discussion while the secretary writes the minutes. School Council representatives identify any items which need to be taken to School Council meetings and then feed back to the class on any actions that have been taken.
