Shared Education Florence Court Spring Programme

27th Mar 2026

Today we enjoyed a fantastic Shared Education trip to Florence court! After having a short break together, the children began their activities by exploring different birds’ nests. They investigated the shapes and sizes of the nests and worked carefully to match each nest to the type of bird that might have built it. The pupils also examined the materials used in the nests, noticing how birds cleverly collect twigs, leaves, feathers and moss. They also spotted some man?made materials, such as bits of plastic, and talked about how these can be harmful for birds and why it’s important to keep the environment clean.

Next, the children took part in a lovely ladybird craft activity, using bright colours and their creativity to make their own mini pollinators.

Afterwards, we headed outdoors for a spring trail, looking for signs of new life, plants growing and wildlife returning as the seasons change. To finish the day, everyone planted their own seeds in the greenhouse, learning what plants need to grow and how to look after them.

The boys and girls had a brilliant day full of learning, teamwork and outdoor fun!
