P4/5 had a fantastic day enjoying outdoor learning and campfire cooking!
We collected our fresh rhubarb from the polytunnel and brought it up to the Thomas Trail. we placed it in a pan and carefully cooked it over a real campfire. It was very exciting to watch it bubble and change as it cooked!
Of course, no campfire would be complete without some toasted marshmallows over the fire—they were delicious! After that, we sang songs together, sharing lots of smiles and laughter.
Later in the afternoon, we enjoyed a well-earned treat by tasting our cooked rhubarb served with ice cream, which was perfect for such a hot day. Lots of us tried rhubarb for the first time. We all had lots of fun!
