Wellie Wednesdays
Today during Wellie Wednesday Mrs Noble tasked us with making our own beads for necklaces or bracelets.
Mrs Graham actually cut some branches from her elderflower tree at home and brought some in for us to work with.
We were using elderflower branches as the pith (middle part of the branch) is so soft and spongey it’s easily removed.
Using hacksaws, we cut the branches into small bead sized pieces (3 each) and then using a tent pole, we pushed it through the middle of the branch. Once that was completed, we cut string into the right size for either a bracelet or a necklace, strung on our beads then Mrs Noble helped us tie the string off! A great, fun filled activity learning new information and skills in the sunshine.

This week we went up to the Thomas Trail armed with some paper, mini hammers and some paintbrushes!
We started by collecting flowers and leaves from the area, placed them onto the paper, placed some white roll on top of the flower and then with our mini hammer we hammered the outline of the flower! Very therapeutic exercise!
Once the banging was complete and we lifted the white roll up, we could brush away any remains of the flower and on the paper was our flower imprint!
